Wonderful meal at Salt Room. Early evening on a Saturday, pleasant atmosphere, staff very personable and knowledgeable of dishes/wines on the menu. The beef empanadas stand out starter, the cod and halibut mains cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend for those coming to Brighton for the first time (like us)

We had a fantastic lunch here mid week. The food quality is quite simply outstanding, and as for the shellfish I have to say we were delighted. My wife and I have just returned from a 2 month stay in the Algarve's biggest fishing port where seafood and fresh fish is obviously plentiful so we were wondering how we would fare on our return to the UK after that. We were not disappointed, the XL prawns were locally sourced, fresh and absolutely delicous. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and the Piri-piri Monkfish my wife had was also excellent. It's not cheap, but it's more than a meal - it's an experience - the wines, top class service and ambiance all adds to it and the hosts clearly take great pride in what they do, so it's worth paying the extra if you can afford it. They claim it's Brighton's best seafood restaurant and I have no reason to doubt that. It's certainly a high bar. Looking forward to coming back one day, sadly we don't get to Brighton more than once a year.

If you like Sea food, then you'll love the Salt Room. The menu is based around fantastic fresh fish, crab, lobster and other delicacies. There's a fine selection of steaks, including giant tomahawk cuts along with the finest sauces. As you might expect, the plates coming out of the kitchen are first rate, so you'll be glad to hear that the service is equally top notch. Whilst you enjoy first class food, if you are lucky enough to visit during fine weather, you can soak in the Sea views. Yep - this place is definitely worth a visit. Personal stand-outs for me were the beautiful Wood fired Scallops, and the flavour of the Peri-Peri Monkfish, which if you enjoy Dansak, should definitely strike a chord. Perfect recipe for a priceless memory.

Incredible evening, we loved it. We had an early reservation for a Saturday, 5pm. Arrived when it was quieter and were able to enjoy leisurely cocktails in the bar before going through to sit down. Very knowledgeable staff, taking care to describe the menu and ingredient/allergens. Plenty of options for gluten free. Delicious food with decent portions but not so big that we couldn't manage 3 courses! Our table was required back for evening service so we couldn't linger beyond 730 at which point the restaurant was very busy and had a great atmosphere. Really great experience and would definitely go back. Nice decor and great location across the road from the beach.

We came for a graduation celebration as a group of seven and had an amazing experience. We had two whole fish to share (Seabass and Brill) which were grilled and filleted by request before served. The scallops were definitely a standout in the starters! Our waiter Gregory ensured that we had enough sides for the group, constantly kept our glasses topped up and had a giggle with the table. Definitely recommend !

We had a wonderful time at The Salt Room. I had booked it before we arrived in Brighton, and were delighted when our taxi driver to the hotel spontaneous recommended it as a place if we wanted a special meal. When we arrived we were glad we booked - those turning up were being told there were no tables left. We had a great table outside on the terrace with sea views. Blankets were available for when the sun went down and it was a bit cooler. Our waitress was lovely, and even came to say goodbye when handing over to her colleague- also very helpful. We went for the big platter of seafood, with lobster, scallops, mussels, king prawns, calamari and langoustines. The food was excellent, and we had wipes to open out to clean our hands. Really enjoyed our evening, especially the apple crumble cocktail. They even brought my husband a happy birthday plate at the end.

I visited The Salt Room with my wife tonight for her birthday. We were greeted at the door by a French Manager who was very friendly, with a great accent. He sat us at a lovely table by the window and made sure we were very well looked after. Our waiter was Gabor, who similarly was very friendly and genuinely only interested to ensure we had a lovely experience. He filleted out fish in front of us and took time to recommend all the specials. The food was absolutely fantastic. My favourite of all the dishes was the dover sole. Even the desserts at the end were fantastic. We will definitely be back soon and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Fantastic food, but absolutely the staff made our evening so special. It felt like nothing was too much trouble for them.
